Because the sale of alcohol in Australia is extremely restricted. A person serving alcohol in Australia needs to hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate and be over 18. As a lot of the labour force of McDonalds is under 18 and are school kids, it would probably be too much of a hassle for them to implement here. Not to mention the uproar and public backlash that would ensue - we are very conservative when it comes to alcohol being visible to children.



Also the liquor licensing laws vary vastly around Australia. Did you know for instance that a bottle shop in Queensland needs to be sponsored by an actual Hotel? This is not the case in states such as NSW.



I don't know for sure as I have not been to the countries you mention, but I would venture to say that alcohol is allowed to be sold in many more outlets such as petrol stations, supermarkets etc?

La Porchetta is an Australian based, Italian, sit in and eat restaurant. McDonald's is a global, fast food, take away restaurant- and I think Maccas was around first.

The reason they probably don't serve alcohol is because all the staff are under 18, and no one would want to work at McDonald's if they are over 18

I never heard of McDonalds serving alcohol. I guess I'm ignorant.

Did you know that McDonalds began in America so that American McDonalds are the original? If other countries change the menu, they are not like the original. Not really authentic, you might say.

How come McDonalds in Australia serves cheeseburgers? The ones in Israel don't. Did you not know that? Maybe you are ignorant too.

Every McDonalds around the world is different.

You can't compare them.

For example, In India, they have lamb burger instead of beef burger in a McDonalds.

In Indonesia, they have rice and fried chicken pack McDonalds.

Mainly because a lot of the customers are kids and teenagers. They aren't gonna give you a pint along with your happy meal.
